PUBLISHING, DESIGN + VIDEO EDITING

Jon, alongside conductor Alex Robinson, has recently founded New Vine Publishing  a brand new music publishing company dedicated to producing outstanding quality, beautifully designed performing editions and arrangements of music from 1600 to the present day. Through its multimedia resources and digital content, New Vine Publishing will look to adopt a 21st Century approach to music publishing whilst always enhancing and never sacrificing the quality of its main product. NVP and its website will launch officially soon and more information will be released later this year.

Currently Jon is editor for composer/conductor Leo Geyer and has previously worked as typesetter and editor for TV composer David Farnon. Also, as the son to professional music publisher and editor Tim Gibson (Schott, Faber, Boosey and Hawkes etc.), Jon has huge experience in the field and uses Sibelius software to an extremely high standard: his most recent work includes creating a brand new edition of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, arranged for reduced orchestral forces by Leo Geyer. Jon is available for further freelance proofreading, typesetting and editing jobs via the contact info at the bottom of the page.

Jon has a keen interest in design and is highly adept in using Adobe Photoshop. Jon has much experience in print design — posters, programmes, logos, photoshop artwork etc.  and website design (including all aspects of this one)Examples of Jon's most recent work for MultiCelli can be seen via their Instagram page @multicelliartist

Jon is also a highly skilled video editor/producer and has made great use of this during Covid-19 lockdowns. With orchestral performance impossible for many months, Jon made numerous 'virtual orchestra' videos as part of his work for MiSST (Music in Secondary Schools Trust  see TEACHING) and in June 2020 was also asked to create larger-scale videos for the England and Wales Cricket Board. This project saw Jon put together a 90-piece orchestra and choir (with added submissions from BBC cricket commentators) to 'perform' anthems as a show of support and thanks to both the England and West Indies cricket teams and administrators for bringing live cricket back to our screens in such challenging circumstances. The videos, that featured primary age school children as well as amateur, student and professional musicians and singers, were shared widely online (ECB article link), were featured by BBC London News on their BBC1 primetime evening news programme, and resulted in Jon being interviewed by Jonathan Agnew live on the BBC's iconic cricket radio show Test Match Special (see MEDIA).
